Launching the Suffolk Nature Project

We are excited to announce the launch of the Suffolk Nature Project – a community-wide initiative focused on restoring the health of our waterways and enhancing local biodiversity through the power of native plants! This project will address challenges in our impaired waterways and bring back vital habitats that support wildlife and enrich our shared spaces.

HERE IS A 1 MINUTE INTRODUCTION VIDEO

Why This Project Matters

Our local waterways have faced environmental pressures that impact both water quality and biodiversity. With your help, the Suffolk Nature Project will tackle these issues by:

  • Improving water quality through natural filtration systems made up of native plants, which help reduce harmful runoff.

  • Supporting biodiversity by creating habitats for native wildlife, including pollinators and bird species that are crucial to our ecosystem.

  • Promoting environmental education by involving the community in hands-on activities and workshops that showcase the importance of native plants in our ecosystem.
